5 Ways to earn your husband’s respect

Daily Hadeeth
A nice way to a husband’s heart is when you are an excellent cook. But hey! What if you are a terrible cook? Don’t worry girls! There are easier and nicer ways to his heart and those don’t require detours via his tummy. Good amount of mental compatibility generally leads to a happy married life but in case of mismatched personalities, things can get twisted and marriage can become an ordeal. A daily challenge!
It is always wise to work hard to make-up rather than just break-up. Girls! Don’t give up just yet. There are strategies you need to work on and walk that extra mile to make you marriage work. Your high standards, professional education, riches and beauty would never guarantee you a true everlasting love. Winning your husband’s heart requires a little patience putting ego aside and a pinch of wisdom. Patience is an innate quality of yours. Let’s talk about the strategies that can make him fall in love with you.

1. Respect him for who he is

No matter he is financially not up to your expectations, you must honor him, be his motivation, obedient and empathizing. Use kind words and avoid bitterness. Try to accommodate with whatever he is providing you. Remember even if you’d have married the richest man, you will get what has been written for you.

Do Not Consider Your Wife Your Student

2. Stay lively!

Replace those forehead creases with a 1000watt smile on your face. It is a research proven fact that happy faces tend to attract more than the gloomy ones. So when your husband returns home after long tiring day, your smile will always be there to embrace him and this will take away his worries. Stay contented and avoid giving him guilt trips. Control your temper when he is angry and don’t aggravate the situation by talking back. Give him all his rights. Play your part well and you will be blessed by Allah who is watching over you.

3. Care for him

Empathize with you husband. Try to do his chores by yourself, make his clothes ready, prepare dinner on time, share food together and never ask him more than his capability. Remember, a spoken word does an irreparable damage. So keep your words and tone gentle. Instead of wasting time here and there, spend quality time with him, share his worries. In times of financial crisis, use your skills or education to be his earning partner. Never ever claim your favors over your husband as this will render all your efforts useless. Be a giver!

Wives should be praised

4. Avoid spend thrifting

Be frugal when budgeting. Manage expenses wisely. Save some for the rainy days too. Limit lavishes and brands, you can wear and eat local brands and still be as happy as anyone could be. You are the home you manager, can make or break the home economy. So spend sensibly. Don’t be extravagant but avoid being too penny pinching.

5. Managing household affairs

wisely always keeps trouble at bay. This is a very effective way to win your husband’s heart. On the contrary, a mismanaged clumsy woman can only bring in hardships. Mis-governance not only disrupts the budget but also negatively impacts on the general household and children’s upbringing. This can distract a man from his family. The wrecked home infuriates him, depresses him and he gradually distance himself from home and in worse scenarios may even indulge in misdeeds.

The Key to Transform an Unkind Man into a Gentle Husband

So dear girls! Good management is not just an office setup term; it is the first rule for successful household affairs. Your beauty meter will still be at zero if your house is a mess and kids unattended. Trust me! Men prefer inner beauty and intelligence of a woman. Such women actually meet the criteria of being a beautiful attractive woman for a husband.
Believe me! This is not hard. But sadly, many women keep a bossy attitude in their false conception that an oppressing attitude might make their husband obedient to them. Kindly ladies! Throw this illusion in trash.
Love can conquer the world and tame the wildest of beasts. Husbands need an understanding partner. Remember! Compromises act as a catalyst speeding up the process of love. It’s a tool to enhance the bond between the two. There is NO cupid of love. Love is built on sacrifice. It takes time and hardships to make a diamond out of coal.

Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Qoum Ko Dardnaak Azaab !

Daily Hadeeth
!! Bismillah Hir Rahemanir Rahim !!
Nabi Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Qoum Ko Dardnak Azaab.. Wo Jagah Aaj “Dead Sea” Ke Naam Se Jaani Jaati Hai . | History of “Dead Sea” by Holy Quraan.
.. Aziz Dosto ,… Allah Ta’ala Ne Insaano Ko Aur Jaanwaro Ko Jodey Me Paida Kiya, Jaise Nar Aur Maada, Insaano Me Mard Aur Aurat Banaaye, Taaki Woh Don
o Ek Dusre Ko Jayaz Tarike Se Khushi De Sakey.

*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ibrahim (Alaihay Salam) Ke Zamaane Ke Nabi They, Aap Ibrahim (Alaihay Salam) Ke Bhatije They.
*Aap Ko Allah Ta’ala Ne Ek Aisi Qaum Ki Taraf Bheja Jo Falisteen (Baitul Muqaddas) Ya Jordan Ke Aas Paas Basi Huyee Thi. Jise Sadoom Kahaa Jaata Tha. Ye Sirzameen Sirsabaj (Green, Hariyaali) Aur Shadaab Thi. Aur Yahaa Par Har Tarhaa Ka Anaaj (Galla) Aur Falo (Fruits) Ki Qasrat Thi.
# Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Qoum Ka Gunaah:
*Iss Qoum Ke Liye Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ko Nabi Banakar Bheja Gayaa Isiliye Iss Qoum Ko Qoum-e-Loot Kahaa Jaata Hai. Is Qoum Me Us Waqt Aisi Buraayee Paayee Jaati Thi Jo Unse Pahele Duniya Ki Kisi Bhi Qoum Me Nahi Paayee Gayee. Uss Qoum Ke Mard (Aadmi) Apni Nafsiyaati (Jismaani ) Khawaahish Ko Pui Karne Ke Liye Mardo (Aadmi Yo) Ke Paas Jaate They (Homo-Sexuality). Aur Ye Be-Hayaayee Aur Buraayee Itni Aam Ho Gayee Thi Ke Wo Apne Iss Bure Kaam Ko Bura Nahi Samjhte They, Balki Uss Par Fakhar Kiya Karte The.
*Riwaayato Me Hai Ki Is Be-Hayaayee Ke Kaam Ki Shuruwaat Shaitaan Ne Ki, Woh Ek Khoobsurat Noujawaan Bankar Aaya Aur Apne Saath Wahaa Ke Mardo Ko Bura Kaam Karne Ke Liye Behkaaya. Aur Is Tarha Qoum-e-Loot Me Ye Buraayee Paida Ho Gayee Woh Log Aurato Ko Chorr Kar Mardo Se Apni Hawas Puri Karne Lage.
*Rue-Zameeen Par Ye Bura Kaam Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Qoum Se Shuru Huwaa Tha Isiliye Aaj Bhi Iss Bure Kaam Ko Lawaatat(Homo-Sexuality) Ke Naam Se Jaana Jata Hai..
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ne Apni Qoum Ki Islaah Ki Bahut Koshish Ki, Kayee Baras Unke Beech Me Rahkar Deen Ki Daawat Dete Rahe. Nasihat Karte Rahe, Allah Ta’ala Ke Azaab Ki Dhamki Dete Rahe. Lekin Un Ki Qoum Par Koi Asar Na Huwaa.
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ne Kahaa: “Aye Meri Qoum Tum Log Aisa Buraa Aur Behayaayee Ka Kaam Kar Rahe Ho Jo Aaj Tak Duniya Me Kisi Ne Na Kiya, Ye Bahut Gunaah Ka Kaam Hai, Tum Apni Aurato Ko Chorr Kar Mardo Ke Paas Jaate Ho, Agar Tum Apne Iss Bure Kaam Se Baaz Na Aaye To Mujhe Darr Hai Ek Din Tumhe Allah Ta’ala Ka Azaab Aa Ghere Ga. Main Tumse Apne Ajar (Daawate Haq Dene) Ki Koi Kimat Nahi Maangta Mera Ajar Tou Mere Rab Ke Paas Hai, Jo Saare Aalam Ka Malik Hai”.
*Iss Par Unki Qoum Ke Jo Doulatmand Bigdail Ya Amir Sardaar They Unhone Kahaa –
“Hame Nasihat Mat Karo, Badey Paak Saaf Bante Ho, Agar Tumne Nasihat Dena Band Na Kiya Tou Ham Tumhe Shahar Se Baahar Nikaal Denge”.
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Nasihato Ka Jab Unki Qoum Par Asar Na Huwa Siwaaye Thode Se Logo Ke Jo Imaan Laaye, Tou Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ne Allah Ta’ala Ki Baargaah Me Duwaa Ki –
“Aye Mere Rab Maine Apni Qoum Me Din Raat Tableeg Ki Aur Unhe Tere Azaab Se Daraya, Lekin Wo Apne Kufr Me Aur Aage Badh Gaye, Aye Mere Rab! Ab Ye Imaan Nahi Laane Wale, Ab Inka Faislaa Tu Hi Kar”.
# Qoum Par Azaab Barsane Ke Liye Allah ne Farishte Bheje:
*Allah Ta’ala Ne Qoum-e-Loot Ko Azaab Dene Ke Liye 2 Farishte Bheje.
Dono Farishte Jab Naazil Huwe To Pahele Ibraahim (Alaihay Salam) Ke Paas Pahoonche. Fir Farishte Shaam Hone Se Pehle Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ke Paas Do (2) Kamsin Khoobsurat Noujawaan Ki Shaqal Me Pahunche. Woh Unke Yahaa Mehmaan Ban Kar Aaye.
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ko Apni Qoum Ke Logo Ki Khabaasat Ka Pata Tha. Isiliye Jab Unhone Apne Kamsin Khoobsurat Noujawaan Mehmaano Ko Dekha Toh Gamgeen Ho Gaye Aur Dil Hi Dil Me Kudne Lage Aur Kahehe Lage – “Aaj Ka Din Badi Musibat Ka Din Hai.”
*Unhe Unki Fiqar La-Haq Huyee. Ke Kahee Unki Qoum Ke Log Unke Mehmaano Ke Sath Koi Buraa Kaaam Na Kare. Isiliye Woh Jaldi Se Apne Mehmaano Ko Apne Ghar Ke Andar Le Gaye.
*Lekin Unki Biwi Doudti Huyee Gayee Aur Apne Qoum Ke Bigdail Amir Sardaaro Aur Badkaaro Ko Apne Ghar Me Aaye Huve Mehmaano Ki Khabar Dedi. Qoum Ke Badkaar Log Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ke Ghar Aa Pahooche. Aur Loot (Alaihay Salam) Se Kahaa – “Un Ladko Ko Hamaare Hawaale Kar Do”,
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ne Kahaa: “Ye Mere Mehmaan Hai Main Inko Hargeez Tum Logo Ke Hawaale Nahi Karoonga!! Tumhe Allah Ta’ala Ka Waasta Hai, Mere Mehmaano Ke Saamne Mujhe Zalil (Be-Izzat) Aur Ruswaa Na Karo, Kya Tum Me Se Koi Bhi Bhalaa Aadmi Nahi Hai? Aur (Qaum Ki Aurto Ki Taraf Ishara Karte Hue Kaha) Ye Meri Betiyaa (Ya Qoum Ki Betiyaa) Hai Tum Inse Nikaah Kar Lo Aur Apni Nafsiyaati (Jismani) Khawaahishat Ko In Se Puraa Kar Lo”.
*Lekin Unki Qoum Ke Log Nahi Maane, Aur Kahaa – “Tum Achchi Tarhaa Jaante Ho Ki Ham Kya Chaahte Hai, Ham Tumhe Kal Subah Tak Ki Mohlat Dete Hai, Kal Subah Ke Baad Tum Hame Rok Na Paawoge”. Ye Kahekar Woh Log Chale Gaye.
*Apni Bebasi Par Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Aankho Me Aansoo Aa Gaye, Woh Chaahkar Bhi Apne Mehmaano Ki Hifaazat Nahi Kar Sakte They Kyonki Unki Qoum Ke Badkaar Log Taadad Me Jiyaada Aur Taaqatwar They.
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ne Kahaa – “Aye Kaash , Mujh Me Tum Se Muqaable Ki Quwat Hoti Ya Main Kisi Zabardast Ka Aasraa Pakad Paata”.
*Tab Farishto Ne Kahaa – “Ham Azaab Ke Farishte Hai, Aye Loot (Alaihay Salam)! Ghabraane Ki Zaroorat Nahi Hai, Ham Tak Tou Kya, Ab Woh Tum Tak Bhi Nahi Pahooch Sakenge, Allah Ta’ala Ne Hame Aapki Qoum Ko Azaab Dene Ke Liye Bheja Hai, Aap Aur Aap Ke Saath Jo Log Bhi Imaan Laaye Hai Subah-Saadiq Se Pehle Is Basti Ko Chod Kar Door Chale Jaaye, Aur Khabardaar Koi Mud Kar Piche Na Dekhe, Ab In Gunaahgaaro Me Se Koi Nahi Bachne Wala”.
*Loot (Alaihay Salam) Aur Jo Log Unke Saath Imaan Laaye They Subah Hone Se Pehle Basti Chodkar Door Jaa Chuke They, Sirf Loot (Alaihay Salam) Ki Biwi Piche Reh Gayee Kyonki Woh Bhi Kaafir Thi.
*Ab Farishto Ne Zameen Ko Jadh Se Ukhaadkar Palat Diya Aur Kayee Kilometer (Taqreeban 40 Kilometer) Tak Gehre Zameen Me Dhasaa Diya, Phir Unpar Paththar Aur Tezaab Ki Baarish Ki Iss Tarhaa Un Gunaahgaaro Ka Namo-Nishaan Mita Diya,.. Koi Bhi Na Bach Saka..
# Azaab Ki Jagah Ko Dead Sea Ke Naam se Aaj bhi Moujud Hai:
*Jahaa Azaab Huwaa Tha Woh Jagaah Aaj Bhi Moujood Hai, Usey “Dead Sea” Ya “Maraa Huwaa Samundar” Ya Mrut Saagar, Bahar-e-Murdaar Ya Bahar-e-Loot Ke Naam Se Jaana Jaata Hai. Aur Aaj Bhi Uspar Jo Azaab Huwaa Tha Uski Wajaah Se Uss Samundar Me Machli (Fish) Tou Kya Koi Kidaa Makodaa Bhi Nahi Paidaa Hota. Aur Uska Paani Itna Namkeen Hai Ki Usko Muhh Se Laga Lo Tou Ulti Ho Jaaye. Gunaahgaaro Aur Nafarmaano Ko Allah Ta’ala Is Tarhaa Azaab Deta Hai Zindagi Me Bhi Aur Marne Ke Baad Bhi.
*Lekin Afsos Ki Baat Hai Ki Insaan Aisi Baato Se Koi Sabak Nahi Leta. Aaj Kuch Modern Kism Ke Log Aur Yahood Aur Nasaara Iss Burey Kaam Ko Buraa Nahi Jaante Aur Aise Bure Kaam Karne Waalo Ko Qanooni Darzaat De Rahe Hai. Allah Ta’ala Ham Sab Ko Aise Bure Kaam Aur Aise Bure Khayaalat Se Bachaaye … Ameen

The Quran and Sunnah on the elderly

Daily Hadeeth

Quran

Your Lord has commanded that you worship none but Him, and that you be kind to your parents. If
one or both of them reach old age with you, do not say to them a word of disrespect, or scold them, but say a generous word to them. And act humbly to them in mercy, and say, ‘My Lord, have mercy on them, since they cared for me when I was small” (17: 23-24).

Hadith

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He is not of us who does not have mercy on young children, nor honor the elderly" (Al-Tirmidhi).

Narrated Abu Musa al-Ash'ari: The Prophet said: Glorifying Allah involves showing honor to a grey-haired Muslim and to one who can expound the Quran, but not to one who acts extravagantly regarding it, or turns away from it, and showing honor to a just ruler (Sunan Abu Dawud).

Narrated Abu Bakrah: The Prophet said: There is no sin more fitted to have punishment meted out by Allah to its perpetrator in advance in this world along with what He stores up for him in the next world than oppression and severing ties of relationship. (Sunan Abu Dawud).

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Prophet said: Those who do not show mercy to our young ones and do not realize the right of our elders are not from us (Sunan Abu Dawud).

The Prophet said: He does not belong to us who does not show mercy to our young ones and respect to our old ones, who does not recommend what is reputable and prohibit what is disreputable (Tirmidhi).

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Allah's Apostle said: The finest act of goodness is the kind treatment of a person to the loved ones of his father after his death (Sahih Muslim).

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Apostle of Allah said: Do not pluck out grey hair. If any believer grows a grey hair in Islam, he will have light on the Day of Resurrection. (This is Sufyan's version). Yahya's version says: Allah will record on his behalf a good deed for it, and will blot out a sin for it (Sunan Abu Dawud).

Are You a Muslim Who Doesn’t Pray? Read On

Daily Hadeeth
You want to pray, but you just.. Can’t.
Perhaps you’ve always wanted to be one of those people who pray.. It seems so easy for some. They just get up and do it. Perhaps you were one of those people at one time, but now.. Not so much.
Something inside you is broken. Scratch that.. It’s not exactly broken.. More like, it feels hollow inside. Something is missing. You feel nothing.. Numb.
So how do we get from this to praying? The problem with most advice on salah is that it looks at things from a reactive point of view instead of a proactive point of view. Not praying? Well, just start. Or better yet, take one salah at a time and keep building until you reach five. Good advice, no?
No. It doesn’t address what leads a person towards salah to begin with.
For some one who feels that hollowness inside, ‘just praying’ does nothing to stir the soul. It doesn’t fill you up. And, in fact, it can deplete you even further. No, you need to start somewhere else.. You need to fill yourself up before your actions all follow suit.
url
We pray because of one simple reason: We love Allah. It’s the loving Allah part that makes it easy. It’s the loving Allah part that makes you stand up when you’re exhausted. Without that piece of the puzzle, nothing else will make salah stick.
When we look at the early Muslims, when Islam first came down, were there a lot of commandments? No, there weren’t. The early surahs are filled with lessons about Allah, about His Angels, His Messengers, His Books. The rules and regulations came later, after the foundation was built. So when we look at our own lives, why do we focus on the rules and regulations without paying attention to the foundation first?
If we want to be amongst those who pray.. Who pray regularly and easily.. Who jump up when the time for salah begins.. Then we need to begin first by building a love for Allah. And in order to do this, we need to KNOW Him.
I always tell people who aren’t praying to begin first with dhikr. Say SubhanAllah 100 times each day. And as you do so, reflect on our own weaknesses, and the Greatness of Allah. Reflect on how it is only with His Help that we are able to do anything. When you do this, you’ll start a habit of THINKING about Allah. You’re remembering Him.
And what happens when you remember Allah? It starts to soften your dead heart.. You start to have more peace.. And most importantly, He remembers YOU.
dua-woman-at-sunset1
Ibn al-Qayyim stated, “In the heart there is hardness which can only be softened by remembrance of Allah. So the slave must treat the hardness of his heart with the remembrance of Allah.”
“Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured.” (Qur’an, 13:28)
“I am to my servant as he expects of Me, I am with him when he remembers Me. If he remembers Me in his heart, I remember him to Myself, and if he remembers me in an assembly, I mention him in an assembly better than his…” (Bukhari and Muslim)
Be MINDFUL of this as you sit each day doing some dhikr. Think to yourself, I am walking towards Allah.. As the last hadith goes on to say..
“… When he comes closer to Me by a handspan, I come closer to him an arm’s length. If he draws closer to Me by an arm’s length, I draw closer by a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him. If my servant comes to Me walking, I go to him running.” (Al-Bukhari)
You’re not praying (yet) but be mindful that you are getting closer. Allow yourself to be in a state where you know you aren’t doing what you’re supposed to, but you’re taking steps to get there. One of the tactics of Shaitan is that he leads you to believe that it’s all or nothing. Either you’re praying, or you’re sinfully not. So when we’re not, a dark cloud of guilt hovers over us, leaving us in darkness, unable to move forward.

Do you know the story of the man who killed 99 men?
Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said: “There was a man from among a nation before you who killed ninety-nine people and then made an inquiry about the most learned person on the earth. He was directed to a monk.
He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine people and asked him if there was any chance for his repentance to be accepted. He replied in the negative and the man killed him also completing one hundred. He then asked about the most learned man in the earth. He was directed to a scholar. He told him that he had killed one hundred people and asked him if there was any chance for his repentance to be accepted. He replied in the affirmative and asked, `Who stands between you and repentance? Go to such and such land; there (you will find) people devoted to prayer and worship of Allah, join them in worship, and do not come back to your land because it is an evil place.’ So he went away and hardly had he covered half the distance when death overtook him; and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of torment. The angels of mercy pleaded, ‘This man has come with a repenting heart to Allah,’ and the angels of punishment argued, ‘He never did a virtuous deed in his life.’ Then there appeared another angel in the form of a human being and the contending angels agreed to make him arbiter between them. He said, `Measure the distance between the two lands. He will be considered belonging to the land to which he is nearer.’ They measured and found him closer to the land (land of piety) where he intended to go, and so the angels of mercy collected his soul”.
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
In another version: “He was found to be nearer to the locality of the pious by a cubit and was thus included among them”. Another version says: “Allah commanded (the land which he wanted to leave) to move away and commanded the other land (his destination) to draw nearer and then He said: “Now measure the distance between them.’ It was found that he was nearer to his goal by a hand’s span and was thus forgiven”. It is also narrated that he drew closer by a slight movement on his chest.
What is awesome about this story is that he hadn’t dramatically changed in terms of his actions. He was just WALKING towards change. And that was enough for Allah. Allah is so patient that He watches us disobey Him. And He waits. Waiting for us to turn back to Him. SubhanAllah!
So begin by walking towards Him. And be mindful that when you do your dhikr, you are taking a step.
Another good step is to begin learning His Names. When you KNOW Him, really know Him, you can’t help but attach your heart onto Him. Knowing Allah’s Names will draw your heart closer to Him. And as it does so, you will remember Him more..
Over time, your desire to please Him and turn back to Him will increase.. And this, my friends, is what will fill you up. This is what will take away the hollowness.. THIS is what will make salah easy. THIS is where the advice, ‘take it one salah at a time’ will be beneficial. When you get to this place, it won’t be such a giant leap to contemplate standing up for one prayer. And slowly, one will become two.. And so on..
But before you begin building your prayers, take the time to build your foundations, just as they early Muslims did. Start with baby steps, like doing dhikr or learning His Names.

Paradise Heaven and Jannah In Islam

Paradise Heaven and Jannah In Islam

Our final destination is the life of the Hereafter. Where we end up, Jannah (Paradise) or Jahannam (Hell-fire) depends on what we worked towards in this life. Paradise is the aim and the hope of every Muslim. But like trying to attain any goal, in order to achieve success, one must have a well-defined plan, and it must be implemented to be successful.

Allah says,
O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and seek means of nearness to Him and strive hard in His way that you may be successful. [5:35]

To prepare for our journey, we need to find out what our destination is like; who are its people, and most importantly, how to get there.

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) told us that within Paradise are things that no eyes have ever seen, nor ears have ever heard, and that things in it are beyond our imagination and comprehension, but we all have our own personal ideas of what eternal bliss would probably be like.

Allah has also described Paradise in many places in the Qur'an, so let us now take a look at what He has in store for the believers.

Description in the Qur'an of Paradise

"The description of Paradise which the Muttaqoon have been promised is that in it are rivers of water, the taste and smell of which are never changed. Rivers of milk the taste of which will remain unchanged. Rivers of wine that will be delicious to those who drink from it and rivers of clear, pure honey. For them will be every kind of fruit and forgiveness form their Lord." [ 47:15]

"And their recompense shall be Paradise, and silken garments, because they were patient. Reclining on raised thrones, they will see there neither the excessive heat of the sun, nor the excessive bitter cold, (as in Paradise there is no sun and no moon). The shade will be close upon them, and bunches of fruit will hang low within their reach. Vessels of silver and cups of crystal will be passed around amongst them, crystal-clear, made of silver. They will determine the measure of them according to their wishes. They will be given a cup (of wine) mixed with Zanjabeel, and a fountain called Salsabeel. Around them will (serve) boys of perpetual youth. If you see them, you would think they are scattered pearls. When you look there (in Paradise) you will see a delight (that cannot be imagined), and a Great Dominion. Their garments will be of fine green silk and gold embroidery. They will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a pure drink." [76:12-21]

"And those foremost (In Tawheed and obedience to Allah and His Messenger in this life) will be foremost (in Paradise). They will be those nearest to Allah in the Gardens of Delight. A multitude of those (the foremost) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam) and a few of those (the foremost) will be from the later (generations). They will be reclining, face to face, on thrones woven with gold and precious stones. They will be served by immortal boys, with cups and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, from which they will have neither any headache, nor any intoxication. They will have fruit from which they may choose, and the flesh of fowls that they desire. There will be Houris with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), like preserved pearls, a reward for deeds that they used to do. They will hear no vain or sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.) but only the saying of: Salam, Salam, (greetings of peace). And those on the Right Hand, who will be those on the Right Hand? They will be among thorn-less lote-trees among Talh (banana trees) with fruits piled one above another, in long-extended shade, by constantly flowing water, and fruit in plenty, whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off. They will be on couches or thrones raised high. Verily, We have created for them (maidens) of equal age, loving (their husbands only). For those on the Right Hand." [56:10-38]

"Verily, the dwellers of Paradise that Day, will be busy in joyful things. They and their wives will be in pleasant shade, reclining on thrones. They will have therein fruits (of all kinds), and all that they will ask for. (It will be said to them): "Salamun" (Peace be on you), a Word from the Lord, Most Merciful." [36:55-58]

Can you imagine?

Wearing the finest silk clothing and sitting on chairs made of gold and precious stones? Those who disbelieve in the words of Allah, say that this is all a fairy-tale, made up by a would-be prophet. But we know, that Allah is the Truthful and that His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, spoke only what was revealed to from the Most Truthful. And even though Allah describes Paradise for us in the Qur'an,

He still says,

"So no soul knows the delights of the eyes which is hidden for them; a reward for what they did." [32:17]

Description of Paradise in the Hadith

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
"The people of Paradise will look at the dwellers of lofty mansions (i.e. a superior place in Paradise) in the same way as one looks at a brilliant star, far away in the East or in the West of the horizon. This is because of their superiority over one another (in reward)." One of the people asked, "O Allah's Messenger, are these lofty mansions for the Prophets which no one else can reach?"

The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) replied, "No! By Allah, in whose Hands is my life, these are for men who believe in Allah and also believe in the Messenger."
 [Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Musa al-Ash'ari narrated that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said, "Verily, for the believers in Paradise, are tents made of a single hollow pear. The length of which would be sixty miles long from all sides, their wives being therein. The believer will go around them (i.e., visit them) and they will not be able to see each other." [Sahih al-Jami]

Abu Hurairah said that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
"There is not a tree in Paradise, except that its trunk is made of gold." [Sahih al-Jami]

Anas ibn Malik narrated that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
"Verily in Paradise there is a market in which (the inhabitants of Paradise) will come to every Friday. The North wind will blow and scatter fragrances on their faces and on their clothes. This will add to their beauty and their attractiveness. They will then go back to their families after having an added luster to their beauty and their attractiveness. Their families will say to them, 'By Allah you have been increased in beauty and loveliness after leaving us,' and they will say, 'By Allah you too have increased in beauty and attractiveness after us.'" (Muslim)

Jabir ibn Abdullah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
"(I saw in a dream that) I entered Paradise, and behold, there was a palace built of gold. I asked, 'Whose is this palace?' They (the angels) replied, 'For a man from the Quraysh.' So I thought it might be I, so I asked, 'And who is he?' They said, 'Umar Ibnul Khattab.' Nothing stopped me form entering it except your Ghirah (sense of honor)." Umar said, "My Ghirah would never be offended by you, O Messenger of Allah." [Sahih al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Anas ibn Malik said that Allah's Apostle (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said,
"I entered Paradise and found myself by a river, by its edges were tents of pearls. Then I tapped with my hands where the water was running, and there was then a beautiful smell of Musk. I asked, 'What is this O Gabriel?' He said, 'This is Kawthar (river in Paradise) which Allah has given to you.'" [Sahih al-Jami]

Who Are the People of Paradise?

We could go on and on, for the ahadith are vast in numbers, about the Prophet's descriptions of Paradise. But a place that has houses built with gold and silver bricks: where its dirt is made of rubies and sapphires and its inhabitants wear only the finest silk garments, sounds like a pretty exclusive neighborhood to me. Who are these people who will be allowed to live in this enchanting place? The Jews say the Jews. The Christians say the Christians.
But Allah says,
"And they say: 'None shall enter Paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian.' Those are their (vain) desires. Say, 'Produce your proof if you are truthful.' [2:111]

He also says,
"(Namely) those whose lives the angels take in a state of purity, saying (to them), 'Peace be on you, enter you the Garden, because of (the good) which you did (in the world)." [16:32]

Always in the Qur'an when Allah mentions those who will attain Paradise, He mentions the believers, not the Muslims. He (subhanahu wa ta'ala) says, "Indeed the Muttaqoon will be amongst the Gardens and water-springs." [15:45]

He also says,
"Verily, the Muttaqoon will be in a place of security, among Gardens and Springs, dressed in fine silk and (also) in thick silk, facing each other. This is how it shall be, and We shall marry them to Houris with wide, lovely eyes. They will request therein for every kind of fruit in peace and security." [44:51-55]

So who are the believers and how do we become one of them? Allah says,
"They believe in Allah and the Last Day, and they enjoin what is right and forbid the wrong and they strive with one another in hastening to good deeds, and those are among the good." [3:114]

He (subhanahu wa ta'ala) also says of the believers,
"But the Apostle and those who believe with him strive hard with their property and their persons; and these it is who shall have the good things and these it is who shall be successful." [9:88]

He goes on to say,
"Allah has purchased of the believers their persons and their goods; for theirs (in return) is the Garden (of Paradise): they fight in His cause, and slay and are slain: a promise binding on Him in truth, through the Law, the Gospel, and the Qur'an: and who is more faithful to his covenant than Allah? Then rejoice in the bargain, which you have concluded: that is the achievement supreme." [9:111]

Of the believers, He also says,
"But those who have faith and work righteousness, they are companions of the Garden: Therein shall they abide (forever)." [2:82]

O slaves of Allah know that being among this illustrious group of people who will live in this place of tranquility and bliss is not something easily attained.

Allah says,
"Or do you think that you shall enter the Garden (of bliss) without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They encountered suffering and adversity, and were so shaken in spirit that even the Apostle and those of faith who were with him cried, 'When (will come) the help of Allah?' Ah! Verily, the help of Allah is (always) near!"[2:214]

What Allah and His Messenger (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) convey to us is that the people of Paradise are the God-conscious, and the God-fearing. Not everyone, who says, Lord, Lord, will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, just as not everyone who professes the Shahadah, will enter Paradise.

Only those who fear Allah as He ought to be feared, and are motivated by that fear to do acts of righteousness will attain success. The one who is conscious of His Lord, in every aspect of his life, and turns to Him in true submission, will have purchased for himself safety and security on a day, when there will be none, except with Allah. He does not cause a soul to suffer fear twice, the fear of Him in this world, and the fear on The Day of Judgment. About this, the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, said,
"Allah says, 'I do not combine for my servants two states of fear, or two states of safety. So if he feels safe from Me in this world I will cause him to fear on The Day of Judgment, and if he fears Me in the world, I will cause him to be safe on The Day of Judgment.'" [Sahih al-Jami]

It is important, therefore, that Muslims know the characters of those who will be the inheritors of Paradise. But it is unfortunate that many of today's Muslims understand that it is enough for one to pronounce the Shahadah by his tongue for him to be entitled to enter Paradise regardless of whether he lived according to Islam or not! But the Shahadah means and requires more than the mere utterance of it. Actually this fact is one of the most mentioned aspects of Islam in the Qur'an and Sunnah. The essence of Eman is deed. Deeds of the heart and deeds of the tongue and other body parts. Deeds that are to be continued till one leaves this world. That was the reason why the Arabs of Makkah refused to pronounce it. They fully appreciated its implication. They knew it concerned authority and understood that they had to govern their deeds and lives with it. Yet many of those who repeat it today lead life styles that do not resemble those described in the Qur'an and practiced by the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, and his companions. The Qur'an warns us that deeds are the basis on which we are to be judged, not only the utterance of the Shahadah,
"It is not by your wishes nor the wishes of the People of the Book: whoever does wrong shall be punished for it, and he will find none other than Allah as a protector or helper."[4:123]

So entering Paradise requires that we live as believers and die as Muslims. That takes knowledge, dedication and determination to see it through to its completion. The fist step is belief in Allah and His Messenger, and the flip side to that is leaving all acts of shirk; this means directing all acts of ibadah to none but Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, whether it be wearing talismans, supplicating to others than Allah or simply showing off. The next step is obeying Allah and His Messenger, avoiding bid'ah and innovations, and carrying out all compulsory acts of worship that He has prescribed. Once we are steadfast and regular in what we must do, we can then proceed to the next level of eman and worship, by doing the things that we have been encouraged to do. By increasing out acts of worship, and remembrance of Allah we will leave off sin and help safeguard ourselves from a Fire, the fuel of which is men and stones.

We Should Also Strive to:

Protect our minds from thoughts, which are evil, because evil actions begin with evil thoughts.

Protect our eyes by lowering our gazes and not looking at forbidden things.

Protect our ears from lewd or evil speech where there is sin. We should also avoid listening to lies, gossip, music, slander, or blasphemy.

Protect our tongues by saying always what is correct and true, and keeping it moist with the remembrance of Allah, and keeping away from backbiting and other evil speech.

Protect our stomachs by eating the halal and keeping away from the haram. We should beware of eating usury, carrion, and swine or drinking intoxicants or taking drugs.

Protect our hands from taking what does not belong to us, or from doing harm to another Muslim.

Protect our legs from taking us to evil and corruption and an ultimate doom.

Protect our private parts from unlawful sexual intercourse.

Protect our wealth by not squandering it or holding on to it too tightly.

Protect our oaths, witnesses and trusts by not breaching or breaking a contract or pledge knowingly. We should not exceed our agreements, testify to falsehood or break our trusts.

Protect our families and children by keeping them away from the things that may be harmful and that may corrupt their minds and their souls.

Now, it is true that only Allah knows who the believers are, but that should not stop us from striving to be among their numbers. For the believers will have eternal bliss and complete success, because of the things that they did in this life. Allah says,
"So no soul knows the delight of the eyes which is hidden for them; a reward for what they did." [32:17]

We now stand at the start of the race, so let us run forward quickly to the finish line, where the gates of Paradise will be open for those who strive as they should. The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, who said,
"Paradise is surrounded by hardship and the Hellfire is surround by wishes and desires," has described the road to eternal bliss. [Sahih al-Jami]

Despite this, Allah and His Messenger have left breadcrumbs along the path, for us to follow to make our journey easier. All roads may lead to Rome, but not all paths lead to Allah and His Paradise. We must plan our journey by using only the road map given to us by Allah and His Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam.

Ways That Lead To Paradise:

Belief and Righteous Deeds are two of the best routes to Jannah (Paradise). The door of righteous deeds is wide and the ways of obtaining rewards are vast, as Allah says,
"And those who believe and do good deeds they are the inhabitants of Paradise, in it they shall abide."
[2:82]

Taqwa is the fear of the Most Merciful, and acting in accordance with the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. That is, hoping for the reward of Allah and avoiding disobedience of His Guidance and fearing His Punishment. For Allah says,
"Surely those of taqwa shall be in the midst of Gardens and fountains." [15:45]

The Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, also said,
"The most common thing which leads people to Paradise is taqwa of Allah and good conduct, and the most common thing which leads people to the Hell Fire is the mouth and the private parts." [at-Tirmidhi]

Obedience of Allah and His Messenger is a sure way to Paradise. Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, says,
"And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will cause him to enter Gardens beneath which rivers flow, and whoever turns back, He will chastise him with a painful chastisement." [48:17]

Allah's Messenger, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, also said,
"All of my followers will enter Paradise except those who refuse." It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, who would refuse?" He said, "He who obeys me enters Paradise and he who disobeys me has refused." [Sahih al-Bukhari]

Fighting in the Path of Allah with one's goods and soul. For Allah says,
"O you who believe, shall I lead you to a merchandise which may deliver you from a painful chastisement? You shall believe in Allah and His Messenger, and struggle hard in Allah's Cause with your property and your lives; that is better for you, if you but knew! He will forgive you your sins and cause you to enter Gardens beneath which rivers flow, and goodly dwellings in Gardens of perpetuity; that is the mighty achievement." [61:10-12]

Repentance erases what came before it as the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, said,
"The one who repents form sin is like the one who never sinned." [Sahih Al-Jami]

And Allah says,
"Except such as repent and believe and do good, these shall enter the Garden, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly in any way." [19:60]

There are countless other means, from building a mosque to seeking Islamic knowledge to obeying our husbands and raising righteous children. All it takes is our time and sincere efforts. With all that Allah has described, it may seem daunting to us at times, that we will ever make it. Emaan rises and falls, and with it our good deeds. But we should never lose hope in Allah, for the only one who loses hope in Allah is the one who disbelieves.

So even though we may feel that we are at the bottom of the pile, the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) gives us hope. He said,
"Mousa, alayhes salam, asked his Lord, 'Who amongst the inhabitants of Paradise will be the lowest in rank?' He (subhanahu wa ta'ala) said, 'He is a man who will come after the people have entered Paradise and it will be said to him: Enter Paradise.' He will say, 'How my Lord? Indeed, the people have settled in their apartments and taken their shares.' It will be asked of him, 'Would you be pleased if there was a kingdom for you like the kingdoms of the earth?' He will say, 'I would be pleased, my Lord.' He will say, 'And for you is the like of that, and the like of it, and the like of it.' He will say at the fifth time, 'I am pleased, my Lord.' He will say, 'This is for you and ten times like it, and for you is what you desire for yourself and what is pleasurable to your eye.' He will say, "I am pleased my Lord." [Muslim]

This is what Allah has for the least among us. But despite all the glorious castles, the beautiful clothes and mates we will posses, inshaAllah, He still has in store for the believers the greatest honor awaiting them in Paradise. Suhaib ibn Sinan narrated that the Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam, said,
"When the inmates of Paradise enter Paradise and the inmates of Hellfire will enter Hell, the announcer will say, 'O people of Paradise, verily you have a promise with Allah and He wishes to fulfill His promise to you.' They will ask, 'What is His promise? Has He not made our balances heavy (with good deed), whitened our faces, admitted us into Paradise, and delivered us from the Hellfire?' Then the screen will be removed and they will look towards Him. By Allah He will not give them a thing more beloved to them and more comforting to their eyes, than the gaze of Himself." [Sahih al-Jami]

We were created in Paradise, we came out of it and we will inshaAllah go back to it. It is our destination and we shall reach it. But we have to do what Allah has asked us to do, for Paradise is not cheap. The price is true eman that is shown in obedience to Allah according to the sunnah of his Prophet, sallallahu alayhe wa sallam. The companions understood that. Their efforts were all for the life of the Hereafter and they gave only what was necessary to this worldly life. As Muslims, everything we do, can be, and should be worship of Allah. Whether we're working at the office to provide for our families; cooking a meal; raising our children, or simply resting, through remembrance of Allah and supplication, we can transform these earthly necessities into fruits that will bear for us in the life of the Hereafter.

So let us keep our eyes on the prize, and strive hard for it, for Allah says,
"And (as for) those who strive hard for Us, We will most certainly guide them in Our ways; and Allah is most surely with the doers of good." [29:69]
"
